Abstract
  • The purpose of this project is to help a small dying rural United Methodist congregation reconnect with its community in a way that brings new vitality to both congregation and community. The author used inteviews, surveys, observations, and group discussions with participants to find the current state of the congregation. Listening to various voices from different people in the community enabled us to see where the church stands and where to take the next step. The author witnessed that God invited the Troy United Methodist Church to be a missional church to participate in God's mission and strengthen missional ministries.
