- Abstract
- Projec director: Robert Radcliffe. This project focuses on the development of a training manual in the Portuguese language for Bible teachers working in the Brazilian public school setting. Developed with the assistance of a multi-denominational team, it reflects input from experts in various fields of teaching and child evangelism within the Brazilian context. The manual, O Professor-Evangelista de Criancas: Fundamentos de uma Pedagogia Especializada (The Children's Evangelist: Fundamentals of a Specialized Pedagogy), is designed to be used as an in-service training manual. The first section describes the project's parameters and the historical development of the Brazilian educational process. Section 2 is the Portuguese manual, and section 3 is the English translation of that manual. The identity and characteristics of a children's Bible teacher, basic biblical/theological and pedagogical preparation, and factors which affect the growth and development of the Brazilian child are discussed. Principles for teaching children about God's love are developed.
