- Boomer-types can preach effectively to millennials by working with a millennial homiletic team. In so doing, the boomer-type preacher's effectiveness in designing and delivering sermons will increase greatly because of the insights, perspectives, ideals, 'life texts,' movies, music, feedback, etc. shared by the millennial team members. Although a baby-boomer can preach effectively to millennials, I have discovered that the most effective role I can play with this generation is not necessarily 'preaching' as much as facilitating the preaching event by working as a pastor/mentor/coach who encourages a healthy exegetical, theological, ethical, rhetorical, and liturgical approach to sermon design and delivery.
