- Abstract
- This dissertation will demonstrate how the 21st century church can facilitate single millennials to become committed church members by implementing specific strategies at Prestonwood Baptist Church. The results of this project will serve to help local churches facilitate single millennials to become committed church members. Single millennials hold a worldview that makes it difficult for them to participate in the local church in the way that the New Testament describes. This worldview or individualism causes millennials to participate in local churches without commitment, and their loose affiliation with the local church is producing spiritual nomads. The New Testament clearly describes the Christian life being lived within the bounds of committed membership in the local church. The New Testament teaches each Christian to worship corporately within the local church, to grow in close friendship with members in their local church, to give money to and for the local church, and to go on mission with the local church.
