Abstract

The purpose of this project was to equip selected members of Cleveland First Baptist Church, Cleveland, South Carolina for discipleship of new adult members. The project consisted of three phases. The first phase involved researching the fields of discipleship, one-on-one discipleship, and mentoring. The project director used this research to develop the curriculum for a workshop to equip the selected group. The second phase included the development of workshop lesson plans, a participant workbook, and a discipleship handbook. The third phase involved equipping the selected group using the workshop materials. The workshop consisted of six sessions, including an introductory and concluding sessions. The project director's intent of the project was to develop a systematic method to train selected members to help new adult members grow spiritually. Evaluation of the project confirmed that the workshop was effective in training the selected group to disciple new adult members through one-on-one discipleship.
