Abstrakt

The purpose of this project was to establish and define the functional role and responsibilities of the assistant and associate pastors of St. Stephen Baptist Church, Louisville, Kentucky. The project focused on the explicit and implied responsibilities of the assistant and associate pastors within the context of a large African-American church. The senior pastor, who had a need to delegate pastoral care and administrative functions, assigned some of these responsibilities to the pastoral staff. Job descriptions are provided at the end of the project.
