Abstract
  • This project explores misconduct in religious systems, with the intent of providing, in a user-friendly format, resources to assist an after-pastor in effective ministry in an often volatile congregational system. There are three sections: (1) case studies of two congregations in which the author served as an interim after-pastor; (2) defining the issues of misconduct in religious systems, including manifestations, scope and effects of misconduct, as well as discussion of pastoral ethics; and (3) practical resources for recognizing and investigating misconduct, intervention design, evaluation and prevention of misconduct.
