- Abstract
- This thesis asserts that mainline Protestant denominations need to successfully complete the 'unfinished business,' begun by the Reformation, of returning the ministry of the church to the people of God. In order to successfully continue that transformation, congregations must shift to models and modes of operation that honor the biblical concept of 'the priesthood of all believers.' This will free congregations from being overly dependent on clergy and evenly distribute the responsibility of ministry throughout the body of Christ. It is hoped that the ultimate outcome of this program will be to provide that aspect of equipping necessary to help strengthen members in their faith and launch them into effective ministry.
