Abstract
  • The objective of this project was to develop a ministry model that addresses the needs of Liberian war refugees suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The researcher reviewed biblical healing literature and research literature on PTSD and trauma survivors. The researcher used descriptive research to interview seven Liberian refugees in order to discover related themes in their stories. Based on the literature and interviews, the researcher proposed a ministry model that integrates certain aspects of spiritual rituals with aspects of cognitive behavior therapy and interpersonal psychotherapy together with traditional church ministries as essential for ministry with refugees.
