Abstract
  • The purpose of this project was to explore instructive and faithful ways to speak about self-defense for Christians, and also to develop practical ministries that employ martial arts style self-defense teachings as positive stewardship of the human body. The author made a theological case for the study of martial arts style self-defense by faithful Christians. He then developed a six-week self-defense seminar that was taught in a congregational setting. using information gathered from the seminar's participants and his research, the author developed a comprehensive study guide for congregations that may be moved to consider a martial arts ministry.
