  • Abstract: To articulate transferable principles to help churches avoid closure and lay an new foundation resulting in church multiplication. Thesis: To turnaround, a dying church must: (1) experience a crisis situation; (2) permit district leaders to discern whether they qualify as a 'true remnant'; (3) Recommit to wholehearted devotion to God; and (4) refocus on becoming a Great Commission church. Method of study: The method of studying church redevelopment was to analyze the Wyandotte Alliance Church of Wyandotte, Michigan, an aging church that almost closed. Results of research: Four refocus realities are needed to redevelop: (1) determine that a true remnant exists; (2) pray then plan; (3) restore wholehearted devotion to God; (4) redefine God's purposes to exist.
