- The author researched the devotional life of Scottish pastor Robert Murray M'Cheyne. His purpose was to discover keys to M'Cheyne's sermons, letters and diary entries. A key finding was the connection between a leader's own devotional life and the power evidenced in his ministry. Another important conclusion was the necessity of the ongoing pursuit of personal holiness in a leader's life.
