Abstract
  • This planning-action-evaluation project is directed to the utilization of small groups as one method by which declining churches can be revitalized. It focuses intentionally on Centre Church in Malden, a dowtown parish that is declining. At Centre new groups have been formed with special emphasis on the neighborhood cells and the home Bible study cells. Through these groups the fellowship is being renewed, the laity involved and the outreach mission of the church extended. The pastor's role is--visionary, inspirer, equipper, encourager and exemplar. The Holy Spirit is central to the whole process of renewal.
