Abstract
  • This research project attempted to establish a relationship between Rizzuto's notion of God-image as transitional object and the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory's eight basic personality styles. While the results did not establish such a relationship, they do argue for a possible relationship between God-image and the Millon (MCMI) dependent self-other orientation at the suggestive level of interpretation. These results, which were obtained through contingency square analysis with chi-square, were bolstered by parallel diagnostic data. It is argued that the results, which were derived from a clinical population, can be applied to and have relevance for non-clinical populations.
