Abstract
  • This project was designed to help a congregation move toward engaging in ethical reflection in the context of several challenging and divisive issues in the congregation and the surrounding community. Employing case studies, discussion of ethical decision making as portrayed in film and television, and role playing, a group of twenty persons was brought to an appreciation of the complexities in ethical decision making. Using questionnaires, a video record, and the 'nominal process' the project demonstrated that after twenty hours of work together the group was able to define the next steps in strengthening the congregation's approach to ethical reflection.
