  • The impact of international study for college students is widely appreciated in higher education. This study describes the reactions of Christian students from Trinity University to the faith and practice of those whom they meet while studying abroad. After reviewing an alternative model of Christian missionary, the critical distinction between missions and missio Dei, and cross-cultural diffusion of Christianity, themes drawn from interviews with students are presented, as well as student perceptions of the impact of studying abroad on their faith. The study closes with a reflection on implications for the pastoral presence of a university chaplain.
