Abstract
  • This project enlists, trains, and supervises a team of laypersons from Grace United Methodist Church (Dayton, Ohio) to provide pastoral counseling for persons in the midst of the grief process. The project develops a training manual to teach about grief and the supervisory conversation. Role-playing exercises help team members work through latent aspects of their own grief. In followup peer supervisory sessions the team assesses and enhances its ministry.
