Abstract
  • This research examines factors contributing to the establishment of a sustainable theological higher education branch campus. It employs a qualitative case study method to examine Dallas Seminary's archives, interview experts in the field, and compare DTS sites and other seminaries. The propositions assumed positive impact on sustainability (proximity to an undergraduate Bible college; the presence of local faculty-staff for recruitment, retention, and liaising with the home campus; and educational offerings responsive to student needs). The research confirmed some propositions and revised others. Marketability, advocacy, accessibility, and visibility actually provide markers by which similar institutions can evaluate their distance education programs.
