- Abstract
- The process by which candidates are prepared for ministry was researched and a new model was explored with the Board of Ordained Ministry of the South Georgia Conference. That the existing process impinged upon morale and subsequent ministerial development was shown. A survey instrument was developed by which the effectiveness of the existing program was evaluated. The research concluded that candidates should be allowed to select their counseling elder, that the Board of Ordained Ministry should train the elder selected, and that one's sense of call to ministry should be central to the process.
