Abstracto

This dissertation/project utilizes the hermeneutics of John Stam and Carlos Mesters to design a program for Nicaragua's Seminario Teologico Bautista to train leaders for contextual-liberation Bible study groups. Stam's work shows that Juan Luis Segundo's hermeneutical circle is useful for correcting the oppressive hermeneutics of fundamentalism. Mesters offers a dialectic of Bible and life as two revelatory books written by God. The leader-training program emphasizes training, documentation and communication, art and poetry, and research. The program has three stages: grassroots ministry and institutional relations, integration with Nicaraguan and Latin American Bible Network, and reflective-critical evaluation.
