Abstract

This ministry project examines the professions of faith of the congregation of Mt. Franklin Baptist Church that were made during childhood in order to ascertain whether or not these professions of faith were authentic salvation experiences. A biblical examination is made of conversion, its application to children, and the possibility of false professions of faith. Childhood professions of faith are examined from psychological, sociological, and historical points of view. Social research is used to determine the authenticity of the professions of faith that the congregation of Mt. Franklin Baptist Church made during childhood. The author concludes that while it is certainly possible for children to be truly converted, many children lack the understanding to make professions of faith that produce spiritual conversions.
