- This project evaluates a model of InterPersonal Relationship groups (IPR) adapted from Clinical Pastoral Education programs (CPE) to determine its general usefulness to the United States Air Force Chaplaincy. IPR is effective for interpersonal skills training among clergy and seminary students. Can it be used to improve communication skills (articulating, listening, self-disclosure, openness, and conflict resolution) of parishioners in a United States Air Force (USAF) chapel? This project answers that question in the affirmative and presents an adapted IPR model which can be used to improve communication skills among parishioners in USAF chaplain ministries and perhaps a broader population.
