Abstract
  • The objective was to raise awareness concerning changes in society and the church, teach Wesleyan heritage and vision, and suggest ways for addressing changes. A seven-session series with videos and a workbook was created to heighten awareness of maintenance mode ministry and evoke renewal through memory and identity. A leader was recruited to lead a test congregation through videos, workbook, and discussion, and to gather data from verbal and written responses. Results showed that when reconnected with Wesley's original vision through this experiential process, participants became much more open to exploring and implementing new models of ministry.
