Abstract
  • This project addresses the question, what is the most appropriate and creative ministry to the obsessive-compulsive personality in the mainline church in our country? Research is coupled with the author's personal insights as an active churchman with obsessional tendencies. The project explores the nature and origin of such a personality and contrasts it with the personality informed by a mature religious sentiment. In this light, the author evaluates the pastoral ministry of preaching and counseling. He advances the thesis that a relational pastoral style holds the best promise for an effective ministry with the obsessive-compulsive personality.
