Abstract
  • The purpose of this research project was to design and implement a theological foundational model for ministerial training at Faithful Central Baptist Church in Inglewood, California. The model was developed to meet the challenge of preparing individuals for the preaching ministry. Thirty students attended three-hour classes each Saturday for sixteen weeks. Results of the model were evaluated by qualitative analysis instruments and show that the students developed self-awareness, competence in sermon preparation and hermeneutics, theological understanding, a strong sense of commitment to Christian service, and a clearer understanding of the mentoring relationship.
