Abstract
  • Over the last twenty years, Clifton Presbyterian Church has engaged in ministry to homeless men, offered sanctuary for Central American refugees, affirmed the full membership and ministry of homosexual Christians, and opened its doors to full access for people with disabilities. The study confirmed the author's thesis that these ministries are unified by a culture of hospitality through the theme of 'welcoming the stranger.' This project was designed to study how this culture of hospitality has been experienced by this congregation. Case study methodlolgy was used, utilizing interviews, Bible studies, a retreat, and historical materials.
