Abstract
  • This thesis addresses the need to motivate and equip pastoral search committees to call pastors who will preach expository sermons. The local church is God's plan for this age and the local church should feature biblical preaching. That being the case, the preacher that a church calls is the most strategic decision made by a particular local church. Pastoral Search Committees are motivated to pursue excellence in the pulpit. However, there are essentially no available resources designed with the goal of motivating and equipping these search committees to call pastors who will preach expository sermons. This thesis-project designed a manual for that specific purpose. The manual was taught as a Sunday morning elective in a local church. This resulted in a greater vision for expository preaching amongst church leadership and the overall church.
