- Abstract
- This is a collective case study of eight Chinese entrepreneurs in Singapore, five of whom are Protestant Christians and the remaining three of different faiths. They are owner- managers of their business, with the oldest being 63 years of age and the youngest 38. All interviewees were obtained through personal contacts, and the interviews conducted by the author personally. This is limited study that aims to identify the various characteristics of Chinese entrepreneurship, the influence of Confucianism on Chinese entrepreneurship and the reasons why these entrepreneurs started their businesses. A framework integrating the characteristics of both Chinese entrepreneurship and Christian entrepreneurship is proposed.
