Abstract
  • The purpose of this paper is to develop an understanding of the borderline client and of the dynamic process involved in treatment. It also seeks to define the limitations involved in working with borderline clients. The study highlights the existential and pathological anxieties operating within borderline clients. Pastoral psychotherapists should scrutinize the theological issues which pertain to borderline clients which are presented in the paper. They also should ask themselves whether they have the personal and educational resources to counsel borderline clients.
