- Abstract
- This project proposes to contextualize the Christian gospel for evangelical churches in Eritrea and Ethiopia that find themselves identified with western culture and at odds with culturally sensitive adherents of Islam and the Ethiopian Orthodox churches. Drawing on studies of Ethiopia (Erithio), its peoples, the Ethiopic church, and Islam, the project offers guidelines specifically for Ethiopia and principles that may be more broadly applied in cross-cultural communication.
