Abstract
  • The project was stimulated by the question: 'Is there a cause and effect relationship between the establishment of Christian community and church renewal in the local church fellowship, and if so, how is such community developed?' The hypothesis was that by attention to intimacy, leadership, and mission a strategy for the establishment of community could be developed so as to positively effect church renewal. The research method was integrative-wholistic using an action-research model. The hypothesis was proven correct. With the implementation of the strategy for development of community, mutuality is recognized, interaction intensified, community celebrated, and renewal experienced.
