  • A program was developed to train local church nominating committees in the Christian and Missionary Alliance to choose elder leadership. A survey was conducted of Alliance churches and their practice of training nominating committees which demonstrated that there was little or no training taking place. A training manual and video training tape was produced and implemented in three Alliance churches over a period of one year. A pre-test and post-test study was conducted to determine the program effectiveness. These three case studies revealed the training program helped each committee establish clear objectives and procedures in keeping with biblical principles of elder leadership.
