- Abstract
- The small, rural church often finds itself confused about its place in an ever-growing world that stresses size. Biblical texts and images indicate that Christ's presence is the only requirement for an active and alive church. This project, which was aimed at helping members come to this understanding, was a four-part process. These four groups of experiences were: eleven meetings with project associates that looked at the church, its context, biblical images of the church and development of a theological statement; three congregational experiences; development of a mission statement and goals; and implementation of these goals. Through this project and experiences a small, rural congregation experienced renewed life and vision.
