- We make idols of a narrow range of aptitudes now used in adult Christian education classes, and fail to make use of the varieties of gifts which adults bring. This thesis builds a rationale for using Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences to expand our teaching methodology with adults. Used appropriately multiple intelligence theory offers a window into the minds of adults in the church, and can give form to the content and practices of Christian faith in ways that incarnate meaning for and with adult learners. A workshop model is offered for teachers of adults to experience learning through multiple intelligences.
