Abstract
  • The Book of Confessions is relatively unfamiliar to most Presbyterians. In addition there is a lack of understanding of the 'essential tenets' of Reformed theology. Through preaching and teaching, this project attempts to educate the congregation of Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Clarksburg, Pennsylvania about the Book of Confessions and the Reformed tradition. Fourteen sermons are preached, based on the sections of the Heidelberg Catechism that deal with the Apostles' Creed. A thirteen-session class on the Book of Confessions is held. Interviews with members show a positive response to this method of doctrinal preaching and teaching.
