  • This project researches critical factors which would indicate whether the Fresno First Church of the Nazarene should relocate in order to reach the goals of ministry for which it exists. The study incorporates both professional and practical research. Professionally, the paper evaluates factors suggested when a biblical approach is taken to the analysis of church growth. Practically, the study applies the professional research and analysis to a specific circumstance -- that of the Fresno First Church of the Nazarene. The goal of the paper is to find biblically and theologically informed alternatives for increased church growth effectiveness. The project studies the following areas: 1) relevant historical, sociological and demographic data regarding the past growth patterns of First Church with special reference to the geographic area in which First Church is located; 2) past, current and projected changes in the growth patterns of First Church; 3) church growth principles that relate to the possibility of relocating First Church.
