- Abstract
- This project was designed to examine the ongoing efforts of the Covenant Baptist Church to become an intentionally inclusive congregation, which can result in a membership of believers in Jesus Christ who affirm the inherent worth and dignity of all persons, irrespective of race, gender, age, disabilities, faith traditions, economic disparity, or sexual orientation. A local church can be a catalyst for change by challenging its members to make room for the other, thereby experiencing growth and development as spiritual beings. The thesis was developed in a project that included taped pre- and post- interviews with selected members of the congregation. The project concluded with a presentation to church leaders and invited members of the community.
