- Abstract
- The pre-test/post-test control group research design was conducted to evaluate various effects of an intensive, time-extended, Christian, Gestalt-oriented therapy group on the post-test scores of twelve domestically violent men compared to those of the control group. The expectation was that there would be a greater change in the MMPI scores of the treatment group than the control group. After the marathon, the twelve reported feelings of spontaneity, liberation, increased self-esteem, and more direct and honest communication. The time orientation of the twelve shifted systematically from past to future perspective with increased time in the group.
