  • The two-fold purposes of this research are: a) to provide an ethnographic description of the Vietnamese diaspora in three countries--Canada, Australia and Taiwan.; and b) to implement a non-formal lay leadership training program to motivate and mobilize believers to become lay leaders among churches of the Vietnamese diaspora in each of these countries. A non-formal lay leadership training program can be implemented to provide adequate training to believers to become more mature and equipped for lay leadership to serve in the local church. It is concluded that The New Life Training Curriculums (NLTC) can be a great tool to use as the non-formal lay leadership training program. The most effective approach to reach the Vietnamese diaspora has shown to be through human relationship. Even though the material content is the same, the implementation of this training in each country must be well thought out with planning and many prayers to help reach out to the new immigrants in their midst and continue the process of discipleship and equipping believers to become leaders.
