Abstract
  • The spiritual life of adults with intellectual disabilities can be expressed through the communities with whom they live and worship. This project demonstrates that the Christian practices of worship, learning, fellowship, and gifts of service strengthen individual disciples within a more inclusive body of Christ. The research was conducted through focus groups with the members of a group home and some members of their circles of support. The paper examines three gospel parables which challenge the church to redraw its boundaries of inclusion and reflect mutuality in relationships in its community.
