Abstract
  • Application of the Whitehead's model for practical theology is employed to understand the popular devotion in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the experience of the Mexican-American community at St. 'X' Parish. The interviews demonstrated many patterns of spiritual formation, fammily and individual religious practices of Mexican-Americans. I feel that family, as well as popular devotional practices, contribute to the wider liturgical life of the parish. Therefore, they were put into critical conversation with a number of voices leading to renewed ministry in the parish. Giving importance to culture, and accepting culturally-aware ministry, enabled me to develop a plan for a meaningful wider liturgical life in the multi-cultural parish.
