- Congregations in multicultural communities are strengthened for evangelism and mission through discovery and application of their own particular congregational identities. This project proposes to establish implications for mission and evangelism for small churches in multicultural contexts through identification of the mission orientation, cultural mores, and welcoming practices that give them their own congregational identities. In so doing congregations will come to recognize the distinguishing features and qualities that make them what they are. Congregational identity, once discerned, will imply possible activities and tasks to which congregations might successfully apply themselves to accomplish mission and evangelism.
