Abstract
  • Using a pro-active research method of participating in the experience being investigated, the thesis is a case study to answer the question: 'How can Lutheran Campus Ministry in St. Louis serve as a model for the St. Louis ELCA congregations of a spiritually healthy, theologically responsible, and faithfully hospitable discussion of the issues of human sexuality and sexual orientation?' The thesis reflects upon current scientific information and contemporary biblical interpretation, as well as a theologically informed welcoming posture highlighting hospitality and baptism, and offers a model to campus ministries and congregations for participation in a fruitful discussion that honors and welcomes participation by the very people at issue.
