  • Utilizing the paradigm of the Beloved Community, the author researched how an asset based partnered ministry model can enable the positive transformation of urban congregations and communities. Site visits were made to four nationally recognized United Methodist urban ministries that engage in partnered ministry initiatives. Insights gained from these visits were applied to the development and implementation of an asset based partnered ministry model for the United Methodist Church Union. The implementation of this partnership with several urban United Methodist churches in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area has increased their capacity to engage in effective transformational ministry with their respective communities.
