Abstract
  • Canadians continue to find the church increasingly irrelevant. One of the key aspects to connect with these people is for leaders to move out of the boardroom (88% lead primarily as executive officers), and into the lives of the people they serve. Elders need to return to making shepherd leadership, and all that it entails, their primary model of elder leadership. This study sought to examine the prominent models of elder leadership currently in use (cultural analysis/survey), how we arrived at this place (historical analysis), and what the Scriptures conclude (biblical analysis).
