Abstract
  • This thesis is an exploratory study, examining the role of the Mennonite Brethren denominational leader in guiding congregational conflict resolution. This thesis project is designed and organized around bibliographic research, historical analysis, and descriptive research. A biblical foundation is laid, with particular attention given to an exposition of Matthew 18. An overview of church conflict is presented with a focus on an Anabaptist theological perspective. A brief historical analysis of the Mennonite Brethren movement provides the denominational context. The relevant conflict resolution literature is surveyed and a case study using retrospective methodology is provided as descriptive research.
