- Abstract
- This study looks at the imagery of God of women survivors of sexual abuse and how that imagery changes from childhood to adulthood. The thesis is that sexual abuse negatively affects a little girl's imagery of God and her self-esteem, but ultimately is not the final determiner of how she relates to God or how she views herself. Included in this study are the results of an Imagery of God survey given to women survivors, a history of what the Church has said about sexual abuse and imagery of God, and suggestions to assist pastors and counselors in helping women survivors.
