Abstrakt

New kinds of architectural space must be provided for congregations. Multiuse space for worship, fellowship and education can reduce costs of construction and use. Arts are recommended to appoint such space. Churches with flexible space architecture are studied. Criteria were developed for such space and for liturgical arts. A demonstration/exhibition was presented incorporating criteria. A prepared instrument recorded responses of visitors and worshippers. Acceptance of space and its appointment was evaluated. Multiuse space was accepted primarily for economic reasons. Visual arts were found to be vital in the creation of a satisfying worship-setting.
