Abstract
  • A modern American Christian soldier must apply Just War principles when confronted by 21st century Islamic radicalism. There is a three-way tension between the Christian soldier working within a secular context while confronting an Islamist opponent. The irony is that both Islamic and Christian warriors meet on a battleground that is the USA. The author speaks to modernity through the doctrine of creation--that all humanity is created in imago dei. This is a project of recovering what it means to be truly human. This paper proposes some practical Just War solutions for the current spectrum of irregular military operations.
