Abstract
  • Theological educational programs should equip leaders for the ministry of preaching and teaching the Word of God. This requires an understanding of the Bible and skill in relating biblical truth to the cultural context. The objective of this thesis is to develop a program of study to assist the preacher to analyze and interpret Scripture and to prepare a sermon through the exposition of a passage of Scripture. Its design is for persons lacking knowledge of biblical languages, exegetical skills and possessing a limited educational background. The self-study workbook emphasizes a cognitive-discovery and skill development approach based on programmed instruction techniques. Its layout design combines individual study, participatory learning, tutorial guidance and the supervision of specific skills.
